I liked Eccleston’s portrayal a lot, and was quite upset when he went away after one season. By contrast, I was rejoicing when Tennant went away, as his act grew incredibly tiresome to me. Nine came across as a shell-shocked survivor of war who lapsed into a truly frightening mode whenever he came across the Daleks, yet throughout the rest of his time with Rose, you could tell that his past actions haunted him. His first encounter with the captured Dalek was one of the most intense moments of the new series prior to “Blink.” It was a shame that he left after only one season, but then again, I can’t see Nine becoming all kissy-face and IN LURVE with Rose.
It breaks my heart when people don’t credit nine as being as angry as David or Matt. The amount emotion that this doctor portrayed was enough to bring down Dalek armies with just a single thought. In my mind, he was one of the greatest doctor’s because he portrayed everything so well. When he was sad or angry, he let you feel how much it hurt him. He may not have screamed his head of like David Tennant or have gone teary eyes like Matt Smith, but his way of showing us emotion effected us in the same exact way.
I miss nine.
I think Eccleston as 9 was the best of the 3 at being a convincing Oncoming Storm. Without him I would never have watched New Who.

I see Nine’s anger alot more in Eleven’s than in Ten’s. They both give off the feeling of that anger just laying buried...
i always felt like 9 was more angry than 10 or 11 almost to the point of being a total jerk sometimes idk
